FC6 + Gutenprint + CUPS - how it is possible to make things complicated.
Just want to do:
What the fuck? I do have printer connected, and the USB subsystem certainly found it.
So what is the problem with this shit system (FC6)? Do I need to learn all the minor details
in car motor just to drive a car? No. But with Red Hat system you do need to.
Actually the problem is with stupid yum - it should tell more to user, like to install
gutenprint-cups package. Just installin cups and gutenprint wont help you at all.
There should be better installation utility: instead of telling what software kits you want
to install (syntactic approach), you should be able to tell what to do, for instance
"I want to print to Canon MP150" (semantic approach).
Parsing is quite easy "I" (subject), "want" (need) "to" (extra need) "print" (verb),
"Canon MP150" (object). Even the most stupid developer is able to do simple database in
his/her Linux distribution.
Each yum package should have man page, so that
works.
gutenprint-cups man page should: a) list binaries involved, b) show how to use the system with
nice and easy samples.

This guy had really
fucked-up Linux distribution
in his machine preinstalled.
Notice how he manages to avoid using word "fucked" withing his vocabulary. |

By linking to this page you are not allower to sensor word fucked-up.
As a anchor text or link name you must have at least text "fucked-up Linux" mentioned. Yes, you figured it out; the meaning is to cause trouble. |
